In the company’s own words
Worthington Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: WOR) is a leading designer and manufacturer of products sold primarily through retail channels in the tools, outdoor living, and celebrations market categories, as well as highly specialized building products serving residential and non-residential construction markets. Founded in 1955 as a value-added steel processor, the company has evolved into a diversified manufacturer with a people-first culture and operates through two reportable segments: Building Products and Consumer Products.
The Building Products segment, representing approximately 62% of consolidated net sales, provides critical components including pressurized containment solutions for heating, cooking, cooling and water applications, HVAC systems, and metal roofing clips. The segment operates wholly-owned facilities and maintains two unconsolidated joint ventures: WAVE, a 50%-owned ceiling suspension systems manufacturer, and ClarkDietrich, a 25%-owned light gauge steel framing products company. Building Products brands include BPD, CoMet, Elgen, Logan Stampings, NEXI, PowerCore, Ragasco, Roof Hugger, Well-X-Trol, and XLite.
The Consumer Products segment, accounting for approximately 38% of consolidated net sales, offers market-leading brands including Balloon Time, Bernzomatic, Coleman (licensed), Garden-Weasel, General, Halo, Hawkeye, Level5, Mag-Torch, and Worthington Pro Grade. These products serve DIY consumers, professional contractors, and trades people across tools, outdoor living, and celebrations categories.
As of May 31, 2026, Worthington Enterprises employed approximately 3,800 people, with unconsolidated joint ventures employing an additional 2,400 individuals. The company operates facilities across multiple states and internationally, with approximately 12% of consolidated net sales generated from international operations, primarily in Europe. International operations accounted for approximately 12% of consolidated net sales in fiscal 2026.
In December 2023, Worthington completed the separation of its former steel processing business into Worthington Steel, Inc., a separate public company. Recent strategic acquisitions include Elgen, LSI, and Hydrostat assets, strengthening the Building Products portfolio. The company's competitive advantages stem from established market-leading brands, manufacturing scale, specialized engineering capabilities, and the Worthington Business System, which drives continuous improvement through lean techniques and operational optimization.
