In the company’s own words
Zenas BioPharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZNAS) is a clinical-stage global biopharmaceutical company focused on developing transformative immunology and inflammation therapies for patients with autoimmune diseases. The company's website is www.zenasbiopharm.com.
The company's lead product candidate, obexelimab, is a bifunctional monoclonal antibody designed to bind both CD19 and FcγRIIb to inhibit B cell activity without depleting B cells. In January 2026, obexelimab met its primary endpoint in the Phase 3 INDIGO trial for immunoglobulin G4-related disease, demonstrating a 56% reduction in disease flare risk compared to placebo. The company plans to submit a Biologics License Application to the FDA in the second quarter of 2026 and a Marketing Authorization Application to the European Medicines Agency in the second half of 2026.
Beyond obexelimab, Zenas is developing orelabrutinib, a highly selective, CNS-penetrant oral Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase inhibitor for progressive forms of multiple sclerosis. The company is advancing orelabrutinib in a Phase 3 trial for primary progressive multiple sclerosis and plans to initiate a second Phase 3 trial for secondary progressive multiple sclerosis in the first quarter of 2026. The company also has early-stage product candidates including ZB021, an oral IL-17AA/AF inhibitor, and ZB022, an oral brain-penetrant TYK2 inhibitor, with Phase 1 initiation expected in 2026.
Zenas maintains a portfolio approach through partnerships and regional licensing arrangements. The company has sublicensed development and commercialization rights for ZB001, an IGF-1R monoclonal antibody, in greater China. Bristol Myers Squibb holds exclusive rights for obexelimab in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia.
The company has no approved products generating commercial revenue and has incurred substantial losses since inception. Zenas operates as a clinical-stage enterprise with experienced biopharmaceutical leadership and established industry networks to identify, acquire, and develop product candidates offering enhanced efficacy, safety, and convenience over existing therapies.
