In the company’s own words
Zymeworks Inc. (NASDAQ: ZYME) is a global biotechnology company focused on developing and commercializing novel multifunctional biotherapeutics to address difficult-to-treat conditions including cancer, inflammation, and autoimmune disease. The company operates a business model centered on asset and royalty aggregation, combining internal innovation with strategic partnerships to optimize future milestone and royalty cash flows while maintaining capital allocation discipline.
The company's strategy encompasses several key pillars. Its proprietary technology platforms include the Azymetric multispecific antibody platform, which enables simultaneous binding to multiple targets and has been validated through FDA approval of zanidatamab for biliary tract cancer. Additional platforms include drug conjugate technologies featuring a proprietary topoisomerase 1 inhibitor payload, the EFECT antibody effector function modulation platform, and the ProTECT tumor-specific immune co-stimulation platform. These platforms support development of antibody-drug conjugates and multispecific antibody therapeutics targeting oncology, autoimmune, and inflammatory indications.
Zymeworks maintains a portfolio of partnered programs generating milestone and royalty revenues. Zanidatamab, marketed as Ziihera, represents the company's first internally developed product to achieve regulatory approval, with commercialization rights held by Jazz Pharmaceuticals and BeOne Medicines in different territories. The company also receives milestone payments and royalties from pasritamig, a bispecific T cell engager developed with Johnson & Johnson, and maintains platform collaboration agreements with multiple pharmaceutical partners including Celgene, GlaxoSmithKline, Daiichi Sankyo, and Merck.
The wholly-owned pipeline includes clinical-stage programs such as ZW191 and ZW251, antibody-drug conjugates targeting folate receptor alpha and glypican 3 respectively, as well as preclinical candidates including ZW209, a trispecific T cell engager, and ZW1528, a bispecific molecule for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. In March 2026, the company entered into a royalty monetization arrangement with Royalty Pharma, securing $250 million in financing against future Ziihera royalties. The company maintains its website at www.zymeworks.com and operates as a smaller reporting company under SEC regulations.
