The investment objective of the Emerging Markets Small Cap Portfolio (the Portfolio) is to achieve long-term capital appreciation. The Emerging Markets Small Cap Portfolio is a Feeder Portfolio and pursues its objective by investing substantially all of its assets in its corresponding Master Fund, The Emerging Markets Small Cap Series (the Emerging Markets Small Cap Series or the Series) of The DFA Investment Trust Company (the Trust), which has the same investment objective and policies as the Portfolio.
The fund invests substantially all its assets in a master fund that holds a broad portfolio of small-cap companies across emerging and frontier markets, selected by market capitalization thresholds that vary by country. Within that universe, the advisor may emphasize stocks with low relative price, high profitability, or smaller size, and may adjust positions based on price momentum and other shorter-term factors. Because the fund's selections depend on criteria the advisor may change over time and on discretionary shorter-term adjustments, its holdings and performance may diverge from a fixed benchmark.
