Strategy · summarised

The fund invests in a mix of Fidelity U.S. equity, international equity, bond, and short-term funds, with the asset allocation shifting over time along a glide path that gradually reduces equity exposure and increases bond and short-term holdings as it approaches and passes its 2055 target retirement date. The adviser may actively overweight or underweight asset classes by up to 10% relative to the neutral allocations to reflect market outlook, and may also allocate up to 25% in aggregate to alternative asset classes including high-yield debt, floating rate debt, real estate debt, and emerging markets debt. The fund invests through other funds rather than holding securities directly. Approximately 15 to 20 years after 2055, the fund's neutral allocation will match that of the Fidelity Freedom Retirement Fund, at which point the funds may be combined.
