The First Trust North American Energy Infrastructure Funds (the Fund ) investment objective is to seek total return.
The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities of energy infrastructure companies—including utilities, pipelines, power transmission assets, and master limited partnerships—selected by its sub-advisor Energy Income Partners for their non-cyclical fee-for-service business models and high dividend payouts; the sub-advisor deliberately avoids cyclical oil and gas exploration and production assets. Because the fund is non-diversified, it may hold significant positions in a small number of issuers or concentrate heavily in particular sectors or jurisdictions, amplifying exposure to those holdings' performance.
