What this fund is
Objective, as filed

The investment objective of the LVIP Global Growth Allocation Managed Risk Fund (the Fund) is to seek a balance between a high level of current income and growth of capital, with a greater emphasis on growth of capital.

Strategy, summarised

The fund invests substantially all its assets in underlying mutual funds allocated approximately 70% to equity and 30% to fixed income, with a substantial portion in index funds or multi-factor strategies designed to outperform a blended composite benchmark. A separate overlay manager implements a risk management strategy using exchange-traded futures and options to reduce portfolio volatility and downside exposure during market downturns, with up to 20% of assets available for this purpose. The risk management strategy may cause returns to trail the unhedged benchmark in strong rising markets, and in extreme volatility, short positions could substantially reduce net economic exposure to securities.
