What this fund is
Objective, as filed

The investment objective of the U.S. Large Cap Value Portfolio III (the Portfolio) is to achieve long-term capital appreciation. The Portfolio is a Feeder Portfolio and pursues its objective by investing substantially all of its assets in its corresponding Master Fund, The U.S. Large Cap Value Series (the U.S. Value Series or the Series) of The DFA Investment Trust Company (the Trust), which has the same investment objective and policies as the Portfolio.

Strategy, summarised

The fund invests substantially all its assets in the U.S. Value Series, a master fund that holds a broad portfolio of large-cap U.S. companies selected for low relative price (assessed primarily by price-to-book ratio, with consideration of price-to-cash-flow and price-to-earnings) and high profitability. The manager may overweight smaller companies within the large-cap universe, lower-priced stocks, and higher-profitability names, and adjusts positions based on shorter-term factors including price momentum. Because the fund's holdings and their weights depend on the manager's assessments of relative price and profitability, which are subject to change, performance may diverge from a market-capitalization-weighted large-cap benchmark.
