The business

Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) is a global technology leader headquartered in San Diego, California, that develops and commercializes foundational technologies enabling intelligent computing everywhere. The company's website is www.qualcomm.com. Qualcomm operates through three primary reportable segments: QCT (Qualcomm CDMA Technologies), QTL (Qualcomm Technology Licensing), and QSI (Qualcomm Strategic Initiatives).

The QCT semiconductor business develops and supplies integrated circuit platforms and system software featuring advanced wireless connectivity and high-performance, low-power computing technologies. QCT serves mobile devices, automotive systems for connectivity and advanced driver assistance, and internet of things applications across consumer, industrial, and edge networking markets. The company's Snapdragon and Dragonwing families of highly integrated system-based solutions represent its core product offerings, incorporating custom-designed Qualcomm Oryon and Kryo processors, Adreno graphics processing units, and Hexagon neural processing units optimized for on-device artificial intelligence.

QTL operates Qualcomm's intellectual property licensing business, granting licenses to its extensive patent portfolio covering cellular standard-essential patents for 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies. This segment generates revenues primarily through per-unit royalties from licensees manufacturing wireless products including smartphones, tablets, personal computers, automotive modules, and networking equipment.

QSI makes strategic investments through Qualcomm Ventures, focusing on early-stage companies in 5G, artificial intelligence, automotive, cloud, and extended reality sectors. The company also operates nonreportable segments including QGOV, which provides services to U.S. government agencies, and a Data Center business developing next-generation solutions for data centers.

As of September 28, 2025, Qualcomm employed approximately 52,000 full-time, part-time, and temporary workers across more than 200 locations in 38 countries. The company maintains a fabless semiconductor model, relying on third-party foundries and assembly partners for manufacturing. Qualcomm's customer base includes major device manufacturers, with Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi each representing ten percent or more of consolidated revenues in fiscal 2025.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
