The business

Twilio Inc. (NYSE: TWILIO) operates as a leading communications platform-as-a-service provider that enables businesses to embed messaging, voice, email, and video interactions into their customer-facing applications. The company's website is www.twilio.com.

The platform combines highly customizable application programming interfaces with software solutions and customer data capabilities to help organizations deliver personalized, omnichannel customer engagement at scale. Twilio's core offerings include Programmable Messaging for SMS, MMS, RCS, and over-the-top messaging; Programmable Voice for phone call management and virtual agent integration; SendGrid Email for email delivery and marketing campaigns; User Authentication and Identity solutions including Verify for multi-channel verification; and Segment, a customer data platform that unifies real-time customer information across touchpoints.

Revenue is generated through a combination of usage-based fees for messaging, voice, and authentication products, and subscription-based fees for email and customer data platform offerings. As of December 31, 2025, Twilio served over 402,000 active customer accounts spanning small and medium-sized businesses to large enterprises across diverse industries.

The company operates through three primary go-to-market motions: self-service for developers and technical customers, direct sales for enterprises with complex needs, and partner-led channels including independent software vendors and systems integrators. Twilio's Super Network interconnects global communications networks and analyzes billions of data points to optimize message quality and cost.

With 5,587 total employees as of December 31, 2025, including 2,738 located outside the United States, Twilio maintains research and development, sales and marketing, and customer support organizations globally. The company has invested significantly in artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to enhance platform functionality and operational efficiency. Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
