The business

DoorDash, Inc. (Nasdaq: DASH) operates a leading local commerce platform that connects merchants, consumers, and delivery partners across more than 40 countries. The company's website is www.doordash.com.

The company's primary business consists of three integrated marketplaces: DoorDash Marketplace, Wolt Marketplace, and Deliveroo Marketplace, which collectively serve over 56 million monthly active users as of December 2025. These marketplaces represent the vast majority of DoorDash's revenue and provide an integrated suite of services enabling merchants to establish online presence, manage customer acquisition, process payments, and fulfill orders. The company also operates a Commerce Platform offering white-label delivery fulfillment services called Drive, along with tools for online ordering, branded mobile applications, reservation management, and customer support.

DoorDash's business model generates revenue primarily through merchant fees based on transaction size, consumer transaction fees including delivery and service charges, and membership programs including DashPass, Wolt+, and Deliveroo Plus. The company serves over 35 million paid, trial, and partnership members across its membership programs. Additionally, DoorDash offers advertising services to merchants and consumer packaged goods companies to drive engagement and incremental revenue.

The platform engages three key constituencies. Merchants utilize DoorDash to reach consumers and manage their online operations. Consumers access the platform through mobile applications and websites to discover and purchase goods from local merchants. Independent contractors, known as Dashers, provide delivery services and generated over $20 billion in total earnings during 2025, with more than 9 million people dashing that year.

As of December 31, 2025, DoorDash employed over 31,400 people worldwide. The company competes in the intensely competitive local on-demand delivery market against companies including Amazon, Uber Eats, Prosus, and Delivery Hero, as well as merchants operating their own delivery services and traditional offline ordering channels. DoorDash was incorporated in Delaware in 2013 and has expanded significantly through acquisitions including Wolt and Deliveroo, establishing a global presence in local commerce and delivery services.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
