In the company’s own words
Five E Advanced Materials, Inc. (Nasdaq: FEAM) is a development-stage company focused on becoming a vertically integrated global leader in refined borates and advanced boron derivative materials. The company's website is www.5eadvancedmaterials.com.
The company holds 100% ownership of the 5E Boron Americas (Fort Cady) Complex located in southern California through its wholly owned subsidiary 5E Boron Americas, LLC. The Project is built on one of the largest known new conventional boron deposits globally, containing colemanite, a hydrated calcium borate mineral. The deposit also hosts a complementary lithium resource with potential for lithium carbonate extraction as a byproduct.
Five E's business strategy centers on developing capabilities across the boron supply chain, from upstream extraction and product sales of borates and calcium-based co-products to downstream advanced boron material processing. The company currently operates a small-scale facility that commenced operations in April 2024, serving as a foundation for demonstrating product development and design while generating samples for customer qualification efforts. In November 2023, the EPA authorized in-situ mining operations, and the company began wellfield injection and mineral extraction in the form of Pregnant Leach Solution.
The company's Preliminary Feasibility Study, completed in September 2026, estimates approximately 5.1 million short tons of boric acid proven and probable reserves for Phase 1 development, with a projected 37.5-year mine life. The capital estimate for the proposed commercial-scale facility is approximately $435 million. The company has achieved significant commercial progress, including completing its first international product shipment to Taiwan in August 2025 and entering into non-binding offtake agreements with multiple customers during 2026.
Five E's facility was designated as Critical Infrastructure by the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in 2022. Boron was added to the U.S. Department of the Interior's 2025 Critical Minerals List. The company is also pursuing advanced boron materials development, including meta boric acid and ferroboron production capabilities, to capture higher-value applications in semiconductors, aerospace, military, and automotive markets.
