The Power segment serves power generation, industrial, and government customers worldwide with gas and steam turbines, nuclear power solutions including small modular reactors, hydropower systems, and comprehensive service offerings. The Wind segment engineers and manufactures onshore and offshore wind turbines and blades, with workhorse products including the 2.8-127m through 6.0-164m onshore units and the Haliade-X 220m offshore unit, alongside wind services and blade manufacturing through LM Wind Power. The Electrification segment provides grid solutions, power conversion and storage systems, and electrification software that enable transmission, distribution, conversion, and orchestration of electricity from generation to consumption.

GE Vernova's installed base generates approximately twenty-five percent of the world's electricity. The company maintains approximately seventy-five thousand employees globally, with roughly seventy percent specializing in manufacturing, engineering, or services. The workforce is distributed across approximately twenty-four thousand employees in Europe, twenty-one thousand in the United States, nineteen thousand in Asia, and six thousand in Latin America. The company purchases approximately twenty billion dollars in materials and components annually from over one hundred countries.

The company was spun off from General Electric Company on April 2, 2024, becoming an independent publicly traded entity. GE Vernova maintains a license to use certain intellectual property from GE, including the GE name and monogram. The company's strategy emphasizes delivering global sustainability through electrification and decarbonization technologies, maintaining strong customer relationships, servicing its extensive installed base, improving margins through disciplined underwriting, streamlining product portfolios, and allocating capital toward organic investments, targeted acquisitions, and shareholder returns. The company plans to invest approximately five billion dollars in cumulative research and development from 2025 through 2028 across its businesses.
