Walmart U.S. represents the largest segment with 4,611 stores across all 50 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico, generating $483.0 billion in net sales or 68 percent of consolidated revenue. Walmart International operates 5,743 stores across 18 countries outside the U.S., including Canada, Chile, China, Africa, India, Mexico, and Central America, contributing $130.4 billion in net sales or 19 percent of total revenue. Sam's Club U.S. operates 601 membership-only warehouse clubs in 44 states and Puerto Rico, generating $93.0 billion in net sales or 13 percent of consolidated revenue.

Walmart employs approximately 2.1 million associates globally, including roughly 1.6 million in the U.S. and 0.5 million internationally. The company's merchandise strategy encompasses grocery, general merchandise, and health and wellness categories. Walmart markets numerous private brands including Great Value, Equate, George, Mainstays, and Member's Mark, alongside brand-name merchandise from major suppliers.

The company's competitive advantages center on its Everyday Low Price philosophy combined with Everyday Low Cost operational discipline, enabling consistent value delivery. Walmart's omnichannel capabilities integrate physical stores with eCommerce through pickup and delivery services available at over 8,400 locations globally. The company operates 192 distribution facilities in the U.S. and 179 internationally, utilizing both private truck fleets and common carriers. Beyond traditional retail, Walmart has expanded into digital advertising, marketplace and fulfillment services, healthcare, and financial services, creating a mutually reinforcing ecosystem that deepens customer relationships and drives growth across multiple revenue streams.
