Accuray Incorporated (NASDAQ: ARAY) is a radiation therapy company that develops, manufactures, sells and supports treatment delivery, planning, imaging and data management solutions designed to help clinical teams deliver precise radiation treatments across a broad range of clinical cases. The company operates through two primary product platforms: robotic and helical radiation delivery systems. The CyberKnife platform is a robotic radiation delivery system designed to support stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy treatments throughout the body. The latest generation, the CyberKnife S7 System, combines robotic treatment delivery, advanced precision, real-time motion tracking and synchronized treatment delivery, with configurations including fixed collimators, the Iris Variable Aperture Collimator and the InCise multi-leaf collimator. The helical portfolio includes Accuray Stellar positioned for adaptive radiotherapy, the Radixact System as a flexible tailored solution, Accuray Helix as an entry point into the helical portfolio, and the Tomo C System developed through a joint venture in China.
Supporting these delivery systems, Accuray provides the Accuray Precision Treatment Planning System with VOLO optimization technology and the iDMS Data Management System. These software solutions integrate treatment planning, imaging, motion management, adaptive workflow and data management capabilities. The company also offers related services including customer support, installation, training and professional services.
Accuray was incorporated in California in 1990 and commenced operations in 1992, later reincorporating in Delaware in 2007. The company manufactures its CyberKnife and TomoTherapy platforms in Madison, Wisconsin, with linear accelerator manufacturing at its Chengdu, China facility. The company maintains regional offices in Morges Switzerland; Hong Kong and Shanghai, China; and Tokyo, Japan, with direct sales staff in Western Europe, Japan, India, Korea and Canada, supplemented by distributors across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America. In fiscal 2019, Accuray Asia entered into a joint venture with CNNC High Energy Equipment to manufacture and sell radiation oncology systems in China.
