What Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp does

In the company’s own words

Adaptive Biotechnologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ADAP) is a biotechnology company that develops diagnostic and therapeutic products based on its proprietary immune medicine platform. The company's website is www.adaptivebiotech.com.

The company operates through two primary business segments: the MRD (Minimal Residual Disease) business and the Immune Medicine (IM) business. The MRD business generates the majority of revenue and focuses on clonoSEQ, a next-generation sequencing-based diagnostic test that detects and monitors minimal residual disease in patients with hematologic malignancies including multiple myeloma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, diffuse large B cell lymphoma, and mantle cell lymphoma. clonoSEQ is the first and only FDA-authorized test for MRD detection in multiple lymphoid cancers and represents the company's core clinical diagnostic offering. The company also provides clonoSEQ assay services to biopharmaceutical partners for use in clinical drug development trials. The IM business leverages the company's immunosequencing technology to offer immune receptor sequencing services, proprietary data licensing, TCR-antigen prediction models, and target discovery capabilities to research and development partners.

Adaptive's immunosequencing platform combines proprietary chemistry, computational biology, and machine learning to decode the adaptive immune system by sequencing T cell receptors and B cell receptors at scale. The company has built a dynamic clinical immunomics database containing over 100,000 disease signatures and more than five million TCR-to-antigen matches across diverse antigens and HLA types.

The company maintains CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited, and ISO 13485-certified laboratory facilities in Seattle, Washington and South San Francisco, California. As of December 31, 2025, Adaptive held 416 issued and allowed patents and 64 pending patent applications protecting its immune medicine platform and applications. The company's intellectual property portfolio covers sequencing methods, diagnostic and prognostic tools, therapeutic antibodies, and disease-specific T cell receptors.
