The company's core business segments include coal mining and processing through six operating subsidiaries located in eastern Kentucky, western West Virginia, and southwest Indiana. These operations produce metallurgical coal used for steel manufacturing, pulverized coal injection products for the steel-making process, and high-BTU, low-sulfur bituminous coal for industrial applications. The coal deposits under company control comprise materials suitable for various industrial uses and specialty products.
