BayFirst Financial Corp. operates as a bank holding company through its wholly owned subsidiary, BayFirst National Bank, serving consumers and small businesses primarily in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota regions of Florida. The company maintains consolidated total assets of approximately $1.30 billion, total loans held for investment of $963.9 million, total deposits of $1.18 billion, and total shareholders' equity of $87.6 million as of December 31, 2025.

The Bank commenced operations in February 1999 as a Florida state-chartered commercial bank and converted to a national banking association charter in 2022. It operates from twelve banking centers located across Pinellas, Hillsborough, Sarasota, Manatee, and Pasco Counties in Florida. The company employs 145 individuals, comprising 144 full-time and 1 part-time employee.

BayFirst's core business encompasses community banking services including deposit products such as interest-bearing and noninterest-bearing checking accounts, money market deposit accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and individual retirement accounts. The bank offers specialized deposit programs including Essential checking for customers rebuilding banking access, the TrendSetters Club for customers age 50 and older, and the Cash Kids' Club savings account for children age 12 and under.

The lending portfolio includes commercial real estate mortgages, construction and development loans, working capital loans, business expansion loans, personal lines of credit, auto and recreational vehicle loans, residential mortgages, and home equity lines of credit. The bank provides specialized healthcare banking solutions and minority lending programs. In the fourth quarter of 2025, management discontinued its nationwide SBA 7(a) lending business but continues offering SBA 504 and USDA loans through community banking centers. The bank previously discontinued its nationwide residential mortgage lending business in the third quarter of 2022.

Additional services include internet banking, online bill payment, lock box services, remote deposit capture, cash management, wire transfers, safety deposit boxes, merchant processing services, and retail investment services. The company maintains a commitment to community engagement through employee volunteer programs and diversity initiatives, with females representing 60 percent of the employee base and minorities comprising 34 percent of the workforce.
