What Beta Bionics, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Beta Bionics, Inc. (NASDAQ: BMNC) is a commercial-stage medical device company focused on designing, developing, and commercializing innovative solutions for insulin-requiring people with diabetes. The company's flagship product, the iLet Bionic Pancreas, received FDA clearance in May 2023 for treating Type 1 diabetes in adults and children six years and older. As of December 31, 2025, the company had deployed approximately 35,011 iLets commercially in the United States.

The iLet represents a breakthrough in automated insulin delivery technology, functioning as the first and only insulin-delivery device that autonomously determines and delivers 100% of all insulin doses without requiring users to calculate boluses or count carbohydrates. The device integrates with leading continuous glucose monitors via Bluetooth and features an intuitive app-based interface with real-time updates and secure data-sharing capabilities for caregivers. The system comprises a pumping platform with single-use products, adaptive control algorithms, a touchscreen display, and a wirelessly rechargeable battery.

Beta Bionics manufactures and assembles the iLet at its primary facility in Irvine, California, which serves as the company's manufacturing and distribution center. The company maintains ISO 13485 certification and operates under current good manufacturing practices and Quality Management System Regulation requirements. The company markets and distributes the iLet through a direct commercial organization in the United States, concentrating initially on high-volume endocrinology practices with plans to expand into primary care settings.

The company pursues a multi-channel coverage and reimbursement strategy encompassing both the traditional durable medical equipment channel and the emerging pharmacy benefit plan channel to maximize patient access and generate recurring revenue. Beta Bionics' product development pipeline includes Mint, a next-generation tubeless insulin patch pump targeting commercial launch by the end of 2027, and a bihormonal iLet system designed to autonomously deliver both insulin and glucagon through an exclusive collaboration with Xeris Pharmaceuticals. The company also intends to pursue expanded use of the iLet for treating insulin-dependent Type 2 diabetes, representing a significant long-term market opportunity.
