In the company’s own words
Beyond Meat, Inc. (Nasdaq: BYND) is a leading plant-based meat company that develops and commercializes innovative plant-based protein products designed to replicate the taste, texture, and sensory attributes of conventional animal-based meat. The company's website is www.beyondmeat.com.
The company operates through three core plant-based product platforms aligned with the largest global meat categories: beef, pork, and poultry. Its beef platform includes products such as Beyond Burger and Beyond Beef, formulated with plant-derived proteins including yellow pea protein, brown rice protein, faba bean protein, and red lentil protein. The pork platform encompasses Beyond Sausage and Beyond Breakfast Sausage products, while the poultry platform features Beyond Chicken Pieces, Tenders, and Nuggets. Beyond Meat also offers value-added meals including Beyond Bakes and Beyond Skillet Meals, as well as emerging adjacent products such as Beyond Immerse protein drinks and Beyond Ground unseasoned protein bases.
Beyond Meat's products are distributed across mainstream grocery, mass merchandiser, club store, and natural retailer channels throughout the United States and internationally. The company also maintains a presence in food-away-from-home channels including restaurants, foodservice outlets, and schools. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Beyond Meat launched Beyond Test Kitchen, a direct-to-consumer platform providing consumers early access to new plant-based protein products for testing and feedback purposes.
The company's manufacturing process involves proprietary scientific techniques that combine plant-derived amino acids, lipids, carbohydrates, trace minerals, and water to create woven protein structures mimicking animal meat architecture. Beyond Meat operates manufacturing facilities and relies on co-manufacturers for production of certain products. The company sources pea protein primarily from Canada and France and sources avocado oil globally.
Beyond Meat maintains a research and development focus through its Innovation Center, which brings together scientists and engineers across chemistry, biology, material science, food science, and biophysics disciplines. The company has implemented significant cost-reduction initiatives and a Global Operations Review beginning in 2023 to optimize operations, improve margins, and enhance cash generation. In 2025, Beyond Meat ceased operational activities in China and implemented workforce reductions across North America and Europe as part of broader restructuring efforts.
