What Bridger Aerospace Group Holdings, Inc. does
In the company’s own words
Bridger Aerospace Group Holdings, Inc. (BAER) operates as a specialized aerial firefighting and surveillance services provider serving federal, state, and local governmental entities throughout North America. The company's website is bridgeraerospace.com.
Founded in 2014 in Bozeman, Montana, Bridger has evolved into one of the largest commercial operators of purpose-built amphibious firefighting aircraft in the world. The company operates a fleet of nineteen aircraft, including eight Super Scoopers (CL-415EAF amphibious water-scooping aircraft), four Daher Kodiak 100s, four Pilatus PC-12s, two Beechcraft King Air 350s, and one Twin Commander. The Super Scooper aircraft represent the company's flagship asset, capable of scooping up to 1,412 gallons of water in approximately twelve seconds and delivering approximately 50,000 gallons of water before requiring refueling.
Bridger's service portfolio comprises three core offerings: fire suppression through Super Scooper deployment, aerial surveillance via manned Air Attack aircraft and Multi-Mission Aircraft equipped with advanced sensors and real-time data streaming capabilities, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for amphibious aircraft and airframe modification solutions. The company's integrated software platform, Ignis, transforms airborne sensor data into real-time operational intelligence for incident commanders.
As of December 31, 2025, Bridger employed 235 personnel headquartered in Belgrade, Montana, with operations based at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. The company maintains long-standing contracts with the U.S. Forest Service, Department of Interior, and numerous state agencies across high-risk fire regions. Key contracts include a nationwide Super Scooper fire suppression agreement extending through the 2026 fire season and a National Multiple Award Task Order Contract for light fixed-wing aircraft services across five USDA regions.
The company's competitive advantages include its large commercial Super Scooper fleet, highly skilled pilot and maintenance personnel with extensive firefighting experience, long-standing governmental relationships, and comprehensive safety management systems. Bridger is positioned to capitalize on increasing federal and state wildfire management funding, extended fire seasons driven by climate change, and growing demand for rapid aerial suppression capabilities in the expanding wildland-urban interface.
