(Nasdaq: CARE) is a financial holding company headquartered in Martinsville, Virginia that operates as the parent company of Carter Bank & Trust, a Virginia state-chartered bank. The company provides comprehensive commercial banking, consumer banking, mortgage, and financial services through a network of 64 branches located across Virginia and North Carolina. The Bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System in November 2025 and the Company elected to become a financial holding company in October 2025.
The company's primary revenue sources include interest income on loans and investment securities, along with fees from various financial services. The Bank offers a full range of deposit products including noninterest-bearing and interest-bearing checking accounts, savings accounts, retirement accounts, money market accounts, and certificates of deposit. Lending products encompass commercial loans, commercial real estate loans, construction and acquisition loans, commercial and industrial loans, residential mortgage loans, automobile loans, home improvement loans, education loans, and consumer financing products.
