On May 31, 2024, Chord acquired Enerplus Corporation in a stock-and-cash transaction that significantly expanded the company's asset base and operational scale. As of December 31, 2025, Chord held 1,302,921 net leasehold acres in the Williston Basin, representing the largest acreage position of any operator in that region, with approximately all acreage held by production. The company operates 5,025 gross producing wells with an average working interest of 78 percent in operated wells.
