What Cocrystal Pharma, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Cocrystal Pharma, Inc. (Nasdaq Capital Market: COCRM) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing novel antiviral therapeutics for serious and chronic viral diseases. The company operates through a single business segment and maintains its corporate website at www.cocrystalpharma.com.

The company employs a proprietary structure-based drug discovery platform that integrates computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and X-ray crystallography to design small molecule antivirals targeting RNA viruses. This technology platform, developed under the guidance of Nobel Prize-winning Chief Scientist Dr. Roger Kornberg, enables the company to identify highly conserved viral drug targets and design inhibitors with high barriers to resistance. The platform combines atomic-resolution three-dimensional structure determination, computational analysis of drug-binding pockets, cocrystal structure determinations, and molecular modeling to guide rational drug design.

Cocrystal's pipeline focuses on four primary therapeutic areas. In influenza, the company is developing CC-42344, a novel PB2 inhibitor for pandemic and seasonal influenza A treatment and prophylaxis, which completed a Phase 2a human challenge study in the United Kingdom. For norovirus and coronavirus infections, including SARS-CoV-2 and its variants, the company developed CDI-988, an oral pan-viral protease inhibitor currently in Phase 1b clinical development for norovirus prevention and treatment. The company also continues developing broad-spectrum influenza antivirals and is pursuing hepatitis C virus treatments, with CC-31244 representing a potential best-in-class pan-genotypic NS5B polymerase inhibitor.

As of December 31, 2025, the company employed ten full-time employees, with eight engaged in clinical advancement and research and development activities. The company supplements its internal team through contracts with clinical research organizations, clinical manufacturing organizations, and specialized consultants providing chemistry, toxicology, preclinical, and clinical expertise. Cocrystal has not yet generated revenue from product sales and maintains an accumulated deficit of $342.2 million from inception through December 31, 2025. The company's intellectual property portfolio includes issued patents and pending applications across multiple jurisdictions covering its influenza, coronavirus, norovirus, and hepatitis C programs, with patent terms extending through 2042 in certain cases.
