The firm operates through three primary business segments. The Capital Markets segment provides sales, trading, gestation repo financing, new issue placements in corporate and securitized products, underwriting, and advisory services through subsidiaries including Cohen Securities in the United States and CCFESA in Europe. Cohen & Company Capital Markets, a division of Cohen Securities established in 2021, functions as a full-service boutique investment bank offering capital markets and special purpose acquisition company advisory services. The Capital Markets segment specializes in trading corporate bonds and loans, SPAC equity, preferred equity, asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, municipal securities, and various other structured financial instruments. The segment also includes a commercial real estate lending platform focused on multi-family transitional loans.
The Asset Management segment manages approximately $1.4 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2025, primarily in fixed income assets including European bank and insurance trust preferred securities, insurance company debt, and commercial real estate loans. The segment operates through multiple investment vehicles including the PriDe Funds, U.S. Insurance Joint Venture, CREO Joint Venture, and collateralized debt obligations.
The Principal Investing segment comprises investments made to earn investment returns, including positions in special purpose acquisition companies, structured products, and various equity and debt securities.
