The company operates through five primary business activities organized into two high-growth segments plus corporate functions. The Metals Segment, administered through wholly owned subsidiary Comstock Metals LLC, specializes in solar panel recycling and materials recovery solutions. This segment operates a demonstration-scale solar panel recycling facility generating revenue through decommissioning service fees, environmental remediation tipping fees, and offtake sales of recycled materials including aluminum, glass pearls, and concentrated tailings containing silver, silicon, copper, and other critical metals. Comstock Metals has completed permitting for its first industry-scale production facility and secured a second site in the greater Las Vegas area.

The Fuels Segment, administered through majority-owned subsidiary Bioleum Corporation, develops and commercializes technologies that extract and convert lignocellulosic biomass into intermediates for refining into advanced renewable fuels including sustainable aviation fuel, renewable diesel, and cellulosic ethanol. Bioleum operates two Wisconsin renewable fuels demonstration facilities, two pilot farms for energy crops, and is installing its first fully integrated biorefinery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Mining Segment owns, controls, or retains royalty interests on approximately seven square miles of patented and unpatented mining claims and surface parcels in Nevada containing measured, indicated, and inferred gold and silver mineral resources. The Strategic Investments Segment holds minority equity investments in Green Li-ion and Sierra Springs Opportunity Fund supporting the Metals and Fuels segments.

Comstock and Bioleum collectively employ approximately 80 personnel across research, engineering, geological, agronomical, operating, regulatory, environmental, managerial, financial, and administrative functions. The company competes in nascent and established industries including solar panel recycling, biomass-based renewable fuels, and precious metals mining, facing competition from larger, better-capitalized competitors across all segments.
