What Custom Truck One Source, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Custom Truck One Source, Inc. (NYSE: CTOS) is a specialty equipment provider serving infrastructure-related industries across North America through a differentiated "one-stop-shop" business model. The company operates through three reportable segments: Equipment Rental Solutions, Truck and Equipment Sales, and Aftermarket Parts and Services, with plans to realign reporting into two segments beginning in the first quarter of 2026 to better reflect how the business is managed and resources are allocated.

The company maintains one of the industry's largest specialty rental equipment fleets, comprising more than 10,400 units with an average age of approximately 2.9 years. Custom Truck's equipment serves electric utility transmission and distribution, telecommunications, rail, forestry, waste management, and general infrastructure end-markets. The rental fleet includes bucket trucks, digger derricks, dump trucks, cranes, service trucks, heavy-haul trailers, and specialized rail-mounted equipment, with a large percentage insulated for safe work on live electrical lines.

Custom Truck operates more than 40 locations across the United States and Canada, supported by a 24/7 call center, approximately 90 mobile technicians, and over 2,600 third-party service partners. The company serves approximately 8,000 customers, with the top 15 customers representing approximately 23.6% of total revenue and no single customer exceeding 4% of revenue. As of December 31, 2025, Custom Truck employed approximately 2,500 people across its North American operations.

The company's integrated business model combines equipment rental, new and used equipment sales, production and customization capabilities, and aftermarket parts and services. Custom Truck's production facilities enable vertical integration in equipment assembly, providing cost advantages and shorter lead times. The company leverages its position as one of the largest consumers of vocational chassis and attachments in the United States to achieve structural purchasing advantages.

Custom Truck's competitive strengths include its national platform and scale, young and well-maintained rental fleet, integrated production and customization capabilities, geographic diversity, strong customer relationships spanning approximately 20 years with key accounts, and attractive unit economics driven by direct-to-customer sales channels and vertically-integrated assembly.
