What DeFi Development Corp. does
In the company’s own words
DeFi Development Corp. (NASDAQ: DFDV) operates through two primary business segments: a digital asset treasury focused on the Solana blockchain ecosystem and a commercial real estate technology platform. The company's website is www.dfdv.com.
The digital asset treasury segment, which became the company's primary strategic focus following a change of control in April 2025, executes and manages a treasury strategy centered on acquiring, holding, and actively managing Solana (SOL) and SOL-related digital assets. The company accumulates SOL through over-the-counter and spot trading platforms, as well as through staking rewards earned from validator operations. DeFi Development operates and manages Solana validators that participate in the network's proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, generating revenue through staking rewards and validator commissions. The company delegates digital asset holdings to external validators to generate yield while supporting the Solana ecosystem. As of December 31, 2025, Solana had a market capitalization exceeding $70 billion with average daily trading volume of approximately $5.6 billion.
The real estate platform segment provides technology solutions connecting commercial mortgage and small business borrowers with institutional lenders including banks, credit unions, REITs, and debt funds. The platform generates revenue through referral and advisory fees, typically representing one percent of loan amounts, and through subscription-based software-as-a-service offerings including Janover Connect, which streamlines capital raising for real estate investors. The company disposed of Janover Pro, one of its SaaS platforms, in September 2025.
DeFi Development maintains digital asset custody relationships with institutional-grade counterparties including Kraken, BitGo, and Galaxy Digital. The company employs 16 full-time employees as of December 31, 2025. The company's digital asset treasury strategy operates within an evolving regulatory environment governing cryptocurrency activities, securities laws, and staking arrangements. The real estate platform operates subject to various federal and state financial services regulations, data privacy laws, and insurance regulations.
