In the company’s own words
Delcath Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: DCTH) is an interventional oncology company focused on developing and commercializing treatments for cancers primary or metastatic to the liver. The company's website is www.delcath.com.
The company's lead product is HEPZATO KIT (melphalan for Injection/Hepatic Delivery System), a drug-device combination product approved by the FDA in August 2023 for treating adult patients with uveal melanoma with unresectable hepatic metastases. HEPZATO represents a liver-directed therapy designed to administer high-dose chemotherapy to the liver while controlling systemic exposure and associated side effects during a percutaneous hepatic perfusion procedure. The first commercial use of HEPZATO occurred in January 2024, with 25 active treatment sites as of December 31, 2025.
In Europe, Delcath markets CHEMOSAT Hepatic Delivery System for Melphalan, a device-only configuration approved under the European Medical Devices Regulation. CHEMOSAT has been used at major medical centers across 22 cancer centers in Europe, with over 2,000 commercial treatments conducted since launch. As of March 1, 2022, the company assumed direct responsibility for sales, marketing, and distribution of CHEMOSAT in Europe.
The company operates as a single operating segment and has obtained six orphan drug designations for various liver cancer indications including uveal melanoma, cutaneous melanoma, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and neuroendocrine tumors. Beyond its approved indication, Delcath is conducting clinical development programs to evaluate HEPZATO for treating additional liver cancers including metastatic colorectal cancer, metastatic breast cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
Delcath has secured regulatory support including a permanent J-Code from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, transitional drug pass-through status for hospital outpatient services, and New Technology Add-on Payment status under the inpatient prospective payment system. The company entered into a National Drug Rebate Agreement with CMS in October 2025, subjecting it to Medicaid rebates and 340B pricing requirements. The addressable market for liver cancer treatments is estimated at over one billion dollars annually across multiple indications in the United States and Europe.
