Fuel Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: FTEK) is a leading technology company engaged in the worldwide development, commercialization and application of sustainable proprietary technologies for air pollution control, process optimization, water treatment and advanced engineering services. The company operates through two primary business segments: Air Pollution Control and FUEL CHEM.
The Air Pollution Control segment develops nitrogen oxide reduction technologies including NOxOUT® and Advanced Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction systems, as well as Advanced Selective Catalytic Reduction systems. The company's SCR reagent supply systems include the ULTRA® and U2A processes for safe ammonia generation and UDI™ Urea Direct Injection systems. Particulate control technologies encompass Electrostatic Precipitator products and Flue Gas Conditioning systems. These technologies have been installed on over 2,000 combustion units worldwide across utility, industrial and municipal solid waste applications.
The FUEL CHEM segment specializes in specialty chemical injection programs utilizing the proprietary TIFI® Targeted In-Furnace Injection™ technology to improve efficiency, reliability and environmental performance of combustion units. FUEL CHEM programs address slagging, fouling, corrosion and sulfur trioxide-related issues in plants burning coal, heavy oil, biomass and municipal waste. These programs operate on more than 100 applications worldwide.
The company leverages advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics and Chemical Kinetics Modeling capabilities to develop customized solutions for customers. Water treatment technologies include the DGI® Dissolved Gas Infusion system, currently in the demonstration phase, which infuses gases into water for various treatment applications.
Fuel Tech maintains operations in North America and Europe, with 77 employees as of December 31, 2025. The company holds 32 granted patents worldwide, including 12 U.S. patents and 20 non-U.S. patents covering approximately 37 inventions. The company's website is www.ftek.com.
