The company's website is www.gpmtreit.com.

The company was incorporated in Maryland on April 7, 2017, and commenced operations as a publicly traded company on June 28, 2017. Granite Point operates as a single reporting segment that originates, acquires and finances commercial real estate investments. The company's investment objective is to preserve stockholders' capital while generating attractive risk-adjusted returns over the long term, primarily through dividends derived from current income produced by its investment portfolio.

As of December 31, 2025, Granite Point's loan portfolio consisted of 43 commercial real estate loan investments with an aggregate principal balance of $1.7 billion and an additional $0.1 billion of future funding obligations. Approximately 97.2 percent of the loan portfolio by principal balance earned a floating rate of interest. The portfolio includes senior loans representing 97.2 percent of total principal balance and subordinated loans representing 0.8 percent. The company finances its business through public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, asset-backed financings and commercial real estate collateralized loan obligations. As of December 31, 2025, the company had repurchase and secured credit financing facilities with an aggregate maximum borrowing capacity of $1.1 billion and outstanding securitized debt obligations of $0.6 billion.

Granite Point employs 28 full-time employees based out of two primary office locations in New York, New York, and Saint Louis Park, Minnesota. The company typically provides intermediate-term bridge or transitional financing for acquisitions, recapitalizations, refinancings and various business plans including lease-up, renovation, repositioning and repurposing of commercial properties. The company may also invest in mezzanine loans, subordinated mortgage interests, preferred equity investments and other real estate securities. Granite Point maintains its qualification as a REIT for U.S. federal income tax purposes and operates to maintain its exclusion from registration under the Investment Company Act of 1940.
