The company operates through a vertically integrated technology and banking platform designed to minimize service disruptions, provide business continuity, and defend against cybersecurity incidents while leveraging data centers and cloud computing technology.
Green Dot's product portfolio includes GO2bank, a leading digital and mobile bank account for consumers living paycheck to paycheck; the Green Dot Network comprising more than 90,000 retail distribution and cash access locations nationwide; Arc by Green Dot, an embedded finance platform for businesses at all growth stages; rapid! wage and disbursement solutions serving more than 7,000 businesses; and Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, which processes approximately 13 million tax refunds annually on average. The company offers innovative consumer and small business checking accounts, network-branded reloadable prepaid debit cards, open-loop gift cards, and secured credit programs.
Green Dot operates through three reportable segments: Business to Business Services, which includes Banking-as-a-Service partnerships with companies like Apple, Intuit, Dayforce, and Amazon, plus employer payroll platforms; Consumer Services, encompassing retail channel distribution through 90,000 locations and direct online channels; and Money Movement Services, providing cash transfer, disbursement, and tax processing services. Walmart represents the company's largest retail distributor, accounting for approximately seven percent of total operating revenues in 2025.
As the regulated issuing bank for substantially all products and services, Green Dot Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary and FDIC member, holds associated deposits and maintains direct accountability for program integrity, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The company generates revenues primarily through merchant interchange fees, card and program management fees, and interest income from deposit investments. Green Dot competes on breadth of distribution, innovation speed, system reliability, platform scalability, service quality, compliance capabilities, brand recognition, and pricing across retail banking, financial services, transaction processing, and fintech industries.
