What Gyre Therapeutics, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

Gyre Therapeutics, Inc. is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing small-molecule therapies for organ fibrosis and inflammatory diseases. The company operates through its majority-owned subsidiary, Gyre Pharmaceuticals, in the People's Republic of China, and maintains U.S. operations headquartered in San Diego, California. More information is available at www.gyretherapeutics.com.

The company has established a commercial foundation in fibrotic diseases through successful development and commercialization of ETUARY (pirfenidone), which generated $106.1 million in annual sales in 2025 and positioned Gyre as a leading participant in pulmonary fibrosis treatment in China. The commercial portfolio also includes Etorel (nintedanib), launched in June 2025 with $4.6 million in 2025 sales, and Contiva (avatrombopag), approved for thrombocytopenia associated with chronic liver disease and chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenia, which generated $5.5 million in 2025 sales.

Gyre's pipeline includes several clinical and preclinical-stage candidates. Hydronidone, the lead development candidate, is being advanced for chronic hepatitis B-associated liver fibrosis in China and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis-associated liver fibrosis in the United States. The company reported that Hydronidone met its primary endpoint in a Phase 3 trial for CHB-associated liver fibrosis, with plans to submit a conditional approval application in the first half of 2026. Additional pipeline candidates include F573 for acute liver failure and acute-on-chronic liver failure, F230 for pulmonary arterial hypertension, and F528 for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, all in development in China. The company is also pursuing label expansion of ETUARY into pneumoconiosis and radiation-induced lung injury.

In March 2026, Gyre entered into a merger agreement with Cullgen Inc., subject to customary closing conditions including stockholder approval and Hart-Scott-Rodino Act clearance. The company's strategy leverages its established commercial portfolio to support advancement of late-stage candidates, expand approved products into additional indications, and build a diversified pipeline addressing significant unmet medical needs in fibrosis and related inflammatory diseases.
