In the company’s own words
HF Foods Group Inc. (Nasdaq Capital Market: HFSG) operates as a leading marketer and distributor of fresh produce, frozen and dry food, and non-food products to Asian restaurants and other foodservice customers throughout the United States. The company maintains its corporate website at hffoodsgroup.com.
The company operates a national distribution platform comprising sixteen distribution centers and four cross-docks spanning approximately 1.4 million square feet of warehouse space across 46 states, covering roughly 95 percent of the contiguous United States. HF Foods serves approximately 15,000 customer locations through a high-frequency, service-oriented distribution model supported by a fleet of over 400 vehicles and nearly 1,000 employees.
HF Foods offers over 2,000 products across six primary categories. Seafood represents the largest category at 36 percent of sales, including lobster, shrimp, crab, scallops, and fish. Meat and poultry account for 22 percent, Asian specialty items comprise 18 percent, general commodities represent 10 percent, fresh produce makes up 9 percent, and packaging and other non-food products constitute 5 percent of revenue.
The company differentiates itself through deep cultural and language understanding of the Asian restaurant community, long-standing relationships with growers and suppliers, and specialized sourcing capabilities across North America, South America, and Asia. A centralized outsourced call center in China supports order-taking and customer service in customers' primary languages, enabling coordinated marketing and promotional campaigns.
HF Foods expanded significantly through strategic acquisitions, including the 2018 reverse merger with HF Group Holding Corporation, the 2019 acquisition of B&R Global, the 2021 acquisition of Great Wall Group's seafood operations, and the 2022 acquisition of Sealand Food, Inc. These transactions strengthened the company's geographic footprint and product capabilities, particularly in frozen seafood distribution along the eastern seaboard.
The company's business model emphasizes consolidated purchasing, high fill rates, and efficient delivery frequency at competitive prices. While Asian restaurants remain the core customer base, HF Foods intends to selectively broaden its strategic focus to pursue adjacent cuisines and customer segments where its platform can deliver compelling value.
