What i-80 Gold Corp. does
In the company’s own words
i-80 Gold Corp (TSX: IAU, NYSE American: IAUX) operates as a Nevada-focused, growth-oriented gold and silver exploration and development company. The company's website is https://www.i80gold.com.
i-80 Gold holds a portfolio of five gold and silver mineral properties located along the Battle Mountain-Eureka Trend in Nevada. The company's primary assets include the Cove Project in Lander County, the Granite Creek Projects in Humboldt County, the Lone Tree Project spanning Humboldt County, the Ruby Hill Projects in Eureka County, and the FAD Project also in Eureka County. The company considers the Cove, Granite Creek, and Ruby Hill projects as advanced properties and material properties under applicable securities regulations, while the FAD Project remains in earlier stages of development.
The company's business strategy focuses on creating value through ownership and advancement of its mineral properties toward becoming a sustainable mid-tier gold producer. In November 2024, i-80 Gold announced a new development plan centered on developing three high-grade underground mines at Granite Creek, Archimedes, and Cove, while simultaneously advancing two large oxide open pit deposits at Granite Creek and Mineral Point within Ruby Hill. The Lone Tree processing complex serves as the planned central hub for processing refractory material from the underground operations. The company is currently ramping up production at Granite Creek Underground and has initiated construction at Archimedes Underground in the second half of 2025.
As of the filing date, i-80 Gold employs 133 people across its operations. The company is actively engaged in exploration, development, and limited extraction activities, with residual leaching operations at historic leach pads producing minor amounts of gold. The company has entered into third-party toll milling agreements for processing refractory and oxide materials through 2027, with plans to transition all material processing to internal facilities at the refurbished Lone Tree Plant by 2028.
The company was incorporated in November 2020 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Premier Gold Mines Limited and became a public company following a plan of arrangement completed in April 2021, with 70 percent of shares distributed to Premier shareholders.
