What JOINT Corp does

In the company’s own words

The Joint Corp. (NASDAQ: JYNT) operates as a growing franchisor and operator of chiropractic clinics under the "Joint" brand, with its website at www.thejoint.com. The company delivers a private pay, non-insurance, cash-based model designed to make quality chiropractic care accessible and affordable to consumers seeking routine wellness and maintenance therapy rather than acute injury treatment.

As of December 31, 2025, The Joint operates 960 clinics across 43 states, with franchisees owning or managing 885 clinics and the company directly owning or managing 75 clinics. The company has an additional 82 franchise licenses sold but not yet developed and 57 letters of intent for future clinic licenses. The Joint generated over 14.4 million patient visits in 2025, producing system-wide sales exceeding $532.4 million. The company employs a community of more than 2,500 fully licensed chiropractic doctors who perform adjustments in consumer-friendly, open-bay environments.

The Joint's competitive positioning centers on affordability, convenience, and accessibility. The company prices its services approximately 51 percent lower than the average industry cost for comparable procedures, typically at or below insurance co-payment levels. Clinics operate extended hours including weekends, require no appointments, and accept cash or major credit cards. The company collects a 7.0 percent royalty on gross sales from franchised clinics, a 2.0 percent national marketing fee, and charges initial franchise fees of $39,900 per location.

Since acquiring its predecessor in March 2010, The Joint has expanded from eight clinics to its current scale. The company is executing a strategic transition to become a pure-play franchisor, having completed 41 clinic divestitures in 2025 and entering into an agreement to sell 22 additional clinics. The company targets the non-acute treatment segment of the $21.9 billion chiropractic services market, positioning itself as the largest chiropractic franchisor in the United States with approximately six times more clinics than the next largest competitor. The business model emphasizes eliminating insurance processing burdens to allow chiropractors to focus on patient care and service delivery.
