(NASDAQ: KLXE) is a growth-oriented provider of diversified oilfield services to onshore oil and natural gas exploration and production companies operating in conventional and unconventional plays across all active major basins throughout the United States. The company was formed through the combination and integration of seven private oilfield service companies acquired during 2013 and 2014, became incorporated in Delaware on June 28, 2018, and completed its spin-off from KLX Inc. on September 14, 2018, becoming an independent, publicly traded company. KLX Energy Services delivers mission-critical oilfield services through over 60 service facilities located across the United States. The company operates three geographic segments: the Southwest Region covering the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford, the Rocky Mountains Region encompassing the Bakken, Williston, DJ, Uinta, Powder River, Piceance and Niobrara basins, and the Northeast/Mid-Con Region serving the Marcellus, Utica, Mid-Continent STACK and SCOOP, and Haynesville areas.
The company's primary services include directional drilling, coiled tubing, thru tubing, hydraulic frac rentals, fishing, pressure control, wireline, rig-assisted snubbing, fluid pumping, flowback, testing, pressure pumping and well control services. Its rental and product portfolio encompasses hydraulic fracturing stacks, blow out preventers, tubulars, downhole tools, dissolvable plugs, composite plugs and accommodation units. The company serves more than 550 customers, with revenues from its five largest customers representing approximately 31 percent of total revenues, and no single customer accounting for more than 10 percent of revenues.
KLX Energy Services differentiates itself through proprietary products and specialized services supported by technically skilled personnel and a broad portfolio of in-house research and development, manufacturing, repair and maintenance capabilities. Notable proprietary technologies include the PhantM dissolvable frac plug, the Whisper Series electric wireline units, and various intervention tools including the DXD Venturi Tool and SpectrA PDC Bearing Section. The company maintains a fleet of 39 coiled tubing units, 48 wireline units, and operates with a focus on delivering engineered solutions across the entire lifecycle of wells for technically complex unconventional operations.
