What LENSAR, Inc. does

In the company’s own words

LENSAR, Inc. (NASDAQ: LNSR) is a commercial-stage medical device company focused on designing, developing, and marketing advanced laser systems for cataract treatment and corneal astigmatism management. The company's website is www.lensar.com.

The company operates primarily through two core products: the LENSAR Laser System (LLS) and the ALLY Robotic Cataract Laser System (ALLY System). The ALLY System, which received FDA clearance in June 2022, represents the company's next-generation offering, combining proprietary robotic imaging technology with dual-modality laser capabilities in a compact design that allows surgeons to perform procedures in a single operating room without moving patients between rooms. Both systems incorporate advanced imaging, automated surgical planning, and precision laser delivery to assist surgeons in achieving improved visual outcomes and enhanced reproducibility in cataract procedures.

LENSAR's technology platform centers on proprietary robotic imaging that uses Scheimpflug imaging and artificial intelligence to create three-dimensional models of individual patient eyes, enabling precise surgical planning and execution. Key technological features include IntelliAxis Refractive Capsulorhexis for toric IOL alignment, wireless transfer of preoperative diagnostic data, cataract density imaging, and corneal incision planning capabilities. As of December 31, 2025, the company had approximately 435 systems installed across 17 countries, with roughly 51 percent located in the United States.

The company maintains a direct sales organization in the United States consisting of approximately 70 commercial professionals and utilizes third-party distributors in Europe, Asia, and other international markets. Manufacturing operations are conducted at a facility in Orlando, Florida. The global cataract surgery market represents a significant opportunity, with an estimated 33.1 million procedures performed globally in 2025, expected to grow to 39.6 million by 2030.

LENSAR's intellectual property portfolio includes approximately 292 issued patents and 105 pending patent applications globally, covering robotic imaging, iris registration, and integrated system technologies. The company competes against established medical device manufacturers including Alcon, Bausch + Lomb, Carl Zeiss, Johnson & Johnson's AMO division, and Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems.
