The Marcus Corporation (NASDAQ: MCS) operates two primary business segments: movie theatres and hotels and resorts. The theatre division represents the company's largest segment, operating 78 movie theatres with 985 screens across 17 states including Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. Marcus operates under three primary theatre brands: Marcus Theatres, Movie Tavern by Marcus, and BistroPlex. The company also operates Funset Boulevard, a family entertainment center adjacent to one of its Wisconsin locations. As the fourth-largest theatre circuit in the United States, Marcus has invested approximately 340 million dollars over the past decade enhancing the moviegoing experience through premium amenities including DreamLounger recliner seating, premium large-format screens, and signature dining concepts. The company offers approximately 6.9 million members in its Magical Movie Rewards loyalty program and launched a Marcus Movie Club subscription service in November 2024.
The hotels and resorts division owns and operates seven full-service properties in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Nebraska, including The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, the Hilton Milwaukee, The Marc Hotel, Hilton Madison Monona Terrace, Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, AC Hotel Chicago Downtown, and The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel. Additionally, Marcus manages nine hotels and resorts for joint ventures and third parties across eight states, bringing total managed rooms to approximately 4,700. Notable managed properties include The Garland in California, Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington, Omaha Marriott Downtown, Hyatt Regency Coralville, Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh, and The Lofton in Minneapolis. The company also operates the SafeHouse restaurant in Milwaukee and Wisconsin Hospitality Linen Service, which processed approximately 13 million pounds of linen in 2025.
