What NANOVIRICIDES, INC. does

In the company’s own words

NanoViricides, Inc. (NYSE American: NNVC) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a novel class of antiviral drugs based on its proprietary nanoviricide platform technology. The company's website is located at http://www.Nanoviricides.com.

The company is focused on creating host-mimetic, direct-acting nanomachine drugs designed to dismantle targeted virus particles without requiring assistance from the human immune system. NanoViricides' platform technology addresses a fundamental challenge in antiviral development: the tendency of viruses to rapidly evolve and escape traditional therapeutic approaches such as vaccines, antibodies, and small chemical drugs. The company's nanoviricides are designed to mimic host-cell attachment and cognate receptors that viruses require for infection, theoretically preventing viral escape through mutation since viruses must continue using the same cellular landing sites despite evolutionary changes.

The company's most advanced drug candidate is NV-387, a broad-spectrum antiviral that has completed Phase Ia/Ib human clinical safety and tolerability trials and is positioned to enter Phase II efficacy studies. NV-387 demonstrated strong activity in animal models against multiple virus families including coronavirus, respiratory syncytial virus, influenza, orthopoxviruses, and measles. The drug has been formulated in multiple delivery formats including oral syrup, oral gummies, injectable, intravenous infusion, and inhalation solutions.

NanoViricides maintains fully integrated development and manufacturing capabilities at its facility in Shelton, Connecticut, supporting the entire drug development process from discovery through cGMP-compatible manufacturing and analytical testing. The company holds exclusive, worldwide licenses from TheraCour Pharma for treatment of numerous viral diseases including HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and C, herpes simplex viruses, influenza, dengue, Ebola, and varicella zoster virus.

The company's pipeline includes NV-HHV-1 for herpesvirus infections formulated as a skin cream for shingles treatment, and NV-HIV-1 targeting HIV infection. Additional drug candidates are in preclinical development for dengue, Ebola, and other viral indications. NanoViricides has no approved products, customers, or revenues to date and may never achieve profitable operations.
