In the company’s own words
Niagen Bioscience, Inc. (Nasdaq: NAGE) is a global bioscience company dedicated to promoting healthy aging through the development and commercialization of products and ingredients centered on nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), an essential coenzyme that regulates cellular metabolism. The company operates through four primary business segments: Consumer Products, Ingredients, Analytical Reference Standards and Services, and Pharmaceutical.
The Consumer Products segment generates the largest portion of revenue through the Tru Niagen® brand of finished dietary supplements featuring the company's proprietary nicotinamide riboside chloride (NRC). These products are distributed through direct-to-consumer e-commerce platforms, third-party online marketplaces including Amazon, and strategic retail partners across more than 100 countries. The Ingredients segment supplies both food-grade Niagen® to manufacturers of consumer products and pharmaceutical-grade Niagen® to FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facilities for compounding into intravenous and injectable formulations. The Analytical Reference Standards and Services segment, which the company agreed to divest in February 2026, has historically provided highly-characterized phytochemicals and natural products to customers in dietary supplement, food, pharmaceutical, and life sciences industries since 1999. The Pharmaceutical segment focuses on research and development of NAD+ precursors for potential therapeutic applications in rare advanced aging diseases.
Niagen Bioscience maintains a robust intellectual property portfolio comprising owned and exclusively licensed patents protecting its proprietary ingredients and technologies, with patent protections extending through 2041. The company has cultivated over 300 research collaborations through its ChromaDex External Research Program with leading universities and institutions including Harvard, MIT, the National Institutes of Health, and the Mayo Clinic. More than 525 published human clinical studies have examined NAD+ and its health impacts, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications specifically on NRC demonstrating its safety and efficacy. The company employs 117 full-time employees and maintains manufacturing partnerships with FDA-registered contract manufacturers in the United States. Food-grade Niagen® has received regulatory approvals or authorizations from Health Canada, the European Commission, and regulatory bodies in Australia, Brazil, and Turkey.
