Organogenesis Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: ORGO) is a leading regenerative medicine company focused on developing, manufacturing, and commercializing advanced wound care and surgical and sports medicine products. The company's mission centers on advancing healing and recovery through innovative biologic solutions that address large and growing markets driven by aging demographics and increasing prevalence of comorbidities such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.
The company operates primarily through two market segments: Advanced Wound Care and Surgical & Sports Medicine. In Advanced Wound Care, Organogenesis offers a comprehensive portfolio including Apligraf, a bioengineered bi-layered skin substitute approved for treating venous leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers; Dermagraft, a dermal substitute for diabetic foot ulcers; and multiple placental-based products including Affinity, Novachor, and NuShield. The company also markets PuraPly Antimicrobial and related collagen-based products, along with CYGNUS Dual, VIA Matrix, and SimpliMax for various wound types. In Surgical & Sports Medicine, Organogenesis leverages its regenerative medicine capabilities to address surgical wounds and musculoskeletal injuries, with products including NuShield, CYGNUS Matrix, PuraForce, and Affinity for soft tissue repair applications.
Organogenesis sells its products throughout the United States via a direct sales force comprising 224 representatives as of December 31, 2025, supplemented by approximately 175 independent agencies. The company maintains commercial operations in select international markets including Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Mexico. The company manufactures its primary non-placental products in-house and utilizes third-party manufacturers for placental-based products. Organogenesis operates research and development facilities in Canton, Massachusetts; Birmingham, Alabama; and San Diego, California, where its internal team develops the majority of its product portfolio.
The company's pipeline includes line extensions for existing products, new placental-based formulations, FortiShield for burn treatment, TransCyte for deep burns, and ReNu, a cryopreserved amniotic suspension for osteoarthritis management currently in regulatory review. Organogenesis has demonstrated its acquisition capability through strategic purchases including Dermagraft and TransCyte from Shire and placental-based products from NuTech Medical in 2017. The company is constructing a state-of-the-art biomanufacturing facility in Smithfield, Rhode Island, expected to commence operations in 2027.
