The company operates through two primary reportable segments: production and servicing. The production segment handles loan origination, acquisition, and sale activities for both the company's own account and for PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust (PMT), while the servicing segment manages loan administration, collection, default management, and early buyout transactions. In 2025, production segment revenues totaled $1.26 billion and servicing segment revenues reached $737 million, representing the company's primary revenue drivers.
The company sources residential mortgage loans through three channels: correspondent production, broker direct lending, and consumer direct lending. As of December 31, 2025, PennyMac serviced approximately 2.8 million loans with an unpaid principal balance of $733.6 billion.
