What PRECIGEN, INC. does

In the company’s own words

Precigen, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRGN) is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company specializing in precision medicines targeting immuno-oncology, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases. The company's website is www.precigen.com.

Precigen achieved a significant milestone in August 2025 when the FDA granted full approval to Papzimeos (zopapogene imadenovec-drba), marking the first and only FDA-approved therapy for treating adults with recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, a rare, debilitating disease caused by chronic human papillomavirus infection. The company has launched Papzimeos in the United States with commercial infrastructure in place, including partnerships with leading commercialization service providers and secured coverage from private health plans covering approximately 215 million lives, along with Medicare and Medicaid coverage.

The company's therapeutic pipeline includes PRGN-2009, based on its AdenoVerse immunotherapy platform for HPV-associated cancers, and multiple UltraCAR-T candidates including PRGN-3006, which has completed enrollment in Phase 1b trials for relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia. The company has strategically paused enrollment in certain CAR-T programs to prioritize resources toward the most promising candidates.

Precigen's competitive advantages center on proprietary technology platforms including AdenoVerse, featuring gorilla adenovectors with large genetic payload capacity and suitability for repeat administration, and UltraCAR-T, utilizing non-viral manufacturing enabling overnight decentralized production. The company has developed the UltraPorator, a proprietary electroporation device cleared by the FDA for manufacturing clinical trial therapies. Additionally, Precigen operates internal cGMP manufacturing capabilities in Germantown, Maryland, for AdenoVerse-based therapeutics, reducing reliance on contract manufacturers.

The company operates under core tenets of financial discipline, active portfolio management, rapid execution, and strategic partnerships. Precigen estimates approximately 27,000 adult RRP patients in the United States represent the addressable market for Papzimeos. The company continues advancing its clinical programs toward proof-of-concept and commercialization, either independently or through collaborations, including a cooperative research and development agreement with the National Cancer Institute for PRGN-2009 development.
