What PULSE BIOSCIENCES, INC. does

In the company’s own words

Pulse Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: PULSE) is a novel ablation company committed to developing and commercializing medical devices based on its proprietary Nano-pulse Stimulation (NPS) technology. The company's website is www.pulsebiosciences.com.

The company's core technology delivers nanosecond-duration pulses of electrical energy to nonthermally clear or kill targeted cells. When applied to ablate cellular tissue, this technology is referred to as Nanosecond Pulsed-Field Ablation (nsPFA). Pulse Biosciences has developed the nPulse System, a tunable, software-enabled console-based platform designed to accommodate various clinical workflows and accept multiple disposable applicators across different medical specialties.

The company's primary focus is on treating atrial fibrillation, a highly prevalent cardiac arrhythmia affecting approximately 43 million people worldwide. Pulse Biosciences is developing two cardiac products: the nPulse Cardiac Surgical Clamp for use by cardiac surgeons during surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, and the nPulse Cardiac Catheter System for endocardial ablation. The company received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation for its nsPFA Cardiac Surgery System in July 2024 and FDA approval of an Investigational Device Exemption to initiate a pivotal clinical trial in September 2025. The cardiac catheter system has enrolled more than 165 patients in a first-in-human study across European sites, with compelling early data presented in February 2026.

Additionally, Pulse Biosciences commercializes the Vybrance Percutaneous Electrode System for soft tissue ablation in surgical settings, which received FDA 510(k) clearance in March 2024. The company has completed more than 300 patient procedures using this system and initiated a clinical trial in September 2025 to generate evidence supporting commercialization.

As of December 31, 2025, Pulse Biosciences employed 116 people, with approximately half engaged in research and development and half in operations, sales, marketing, business development, and general administrative functions. The company maintains a portfolio of over 250 issued patents and over 180 pending patent applications worldwide, with most granted patents expiring between 2035 and 2042.
