Rithm Property Trust was originally formed as Great Ajax Corp. in January 2014 and capitalized in March 2014. In June 2024, the company completed a strategic transaction with Rithm Capital Corp., which fundamentally repositioned its business strategy. Following this transformation, the company rebranded and changed its name to Rithm Property Trust Inc. in December 2024. The strategic transaction involved Rithm acquiring a significant equity stake in the company and providing external management through RCM GA Manager LLC, which replaced the company's previous manager.
The company's core business centers on originating and acquiring commercial real estate-related investments.
