The company's lead drug candidate, denifanstat, is an oral, once-daily selective FASN inhibitor in clinical development for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), acne, and select forms of cancer. Denifanstat met all primary and multiple secondary endpoints in the Phase 2b FASCINATE-2 clinical trial evaluating 168 biopsy-confirmed MASH patients with stage F2 or F3 fibrosis, demonstrating statistically significant improvements in fibrosis, steatosis, and inflammation markers. The company received Breakthrough Therapy designation from the FDA in October 2024 for denifanstat in non-cirrhotic MASH with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis.
Turning Point's second FASN inhibitor, TVB-3567, is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor currently in first-in-human Phase 1 clinical trials for acne treatment.
