What Scholar Rock Holding Corp does

In the company’s own words

Scholar Rock Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: SRRK) is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering novel therapies for rare, severe, and debilitating neuromuscular diseases. The company's website is www.scholarrock.com.

Scholar Rock's innovative approach is rooted in a proprietary platform technology based on breakthrough discoveries in the molecular mechanisms of growth factor activation. The company has developed a unique capability to create monoclonal antibodies that selectively target the latent, precursor forms of growth factors, particularly those within the transforming growth factor beta superfamily. This approach enables intervention at the site of action within diseased tissue microenvironments while minimizing off-target effects on structurally related growth factors.

The company's lead product candidate is apitegromab, a fully human monoclonal antibody that inhibits myostatin activation by selectively binding pro- and latent forms of myostatin in skeletal muscle. Apitegromab is in development for spinal muscular atrophy and facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy. In October 2024, Scholar Rock reported positive Phase 3 SAPPHIRE trial data demonstrating statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in motor function for patients with SMA receiving standard-of-care SMN-targeted therapies. The company submitted a biologics license application to the FDA in January 2025 and received priority review designation in March 2025. A Complete Response Letter was received in September 2025 related to observations at a third-party fill-finish facility, with regulatory resubmission planned following facility remediation.

Beyond apitegromab, Scholar Rock is advancing a subcutaneous formulation of apitegromab and SRK-439, a subcutaneously administered anti-myostatin antibody. The company is also developing earlier-stage programs including SRK-181, SRK-373, and SRK-256 for oncology, fibrotic diseases, and iron-restricted anemias, respectively, and is seeking partnerships for these programs.

Scholar Rock was founded by internationally respected scientists from Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital. The company operates globally with commercial infrastructure development underway in the United States and Europe to support anticipated product launches.

Fund ownership is a floor, not a census — pensions, insurers and people holding shares directly are not visible here.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
