Security National Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: SNFCA) operates through three reportable business segments that work synergistically to create a diversified financial services platform. The company website is www.securitynational.com.
The life insurance segment, conducted through Security National Life Insurance Company, First Guaranty Insurance Company, and Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company, represents the company's core business. This division sells and services selected lines of life insurance, annuity products, and accident and health insurance across 42 states through a commissioned sales force of independent licensed insurance agents. The company specializes in funeral plans, which are small face value life insurance policies with coverage up to $30,000 designed to cover death-related expenses. The company maintains approximately 629,000 policies in force with total insurance coverage of approximately $3.9 billion. The life insurance segment also offers traditional whole life products, limited-payment life insurance, and various annuity products including single premium deferred annuities, flexible premium deferred annuities, and immediate annuities with guaranteed interest rates ranging from one to six and one-half percent.
The cemetery and mortuary segment operates eleven mortuaries and five cemeteries in Utah, one cemetery in California, and one cemetery and four mortuaries in New Mexico. This division generates revenue through both pre-need sales of funeral, cemetery, and cremation services and at-need services provided at the time of death.
The mortgage segment, conducted through SecurityNational Mortgage Company, originates and underwrites residential and commercial mortgage loans across 85 retail offices in 25 states. The company is approved by the Federal Housing Administration and Fannie Mae to originate various residential mortgage loan products that are subsequently sold to investors.
As of December 31, 2025, the company employed 1,035 full-time and 208 part-time employees distributed across its three business segments. The company has grown through strategic acquisitions of insurance companies, cemetery and mortuary operations, and maintains a diversified investment portfolio supporting its insurance obligations.
