What Sky Harbour Group Corp does
In the company’s own words
Sky Harbour Group Corporation (NYSE: SKYA) operates as an aviation infrastructure development company building the first nationwide network of Home Base Operator campuses designed exclusively for business aircraft. The company develops, leases, and manages general aviation hangars across the United States, targeting airfields in markets with significant based aircraft populations and high hangar demand. More information is available at www.skyharbour.group.
The company's core business centers on developing and operating specialized hangar facilities that cater to the home-based business aviation market rather than transient or commercial operations. Sky Harbour's HBO campuses feature private and semi-exclusive hangars alongside dedicated services optimized for aircraft owners and operators, including climate-controlled storage, in-hangar maintenance capabilities, no-foam fire suppression systems, and customized security features. The company employs a scalable, real estate-centric business model utilizing standardized, proprietary prototype hangar designs replicated across its portfolio to achieve economies of scale in construction and operations.
As of December 31, 2025, Sky Harbour operated 61 hangars across nine properties generating approximately 1.02 million rentable square feet with a weighted average occupancy rate of 78.1 percent. The company maintains ground leases at 20 airports across major metropolitan markets including Dallas, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington DC, with lease expiration dates extending through 2097. The company has 74 additional hangars in development across its existing airport locations, representing approximately 2.7 million additional rentable square feet and estimated construction costs between $690 million and $761.4 million.
Sky Harbour's tenant base comprises 85 leases with no single tenant accounting for more than 10 percent of revenue, diversified across individuals, charter operations, corporate fleets, government entities, and aviation service providers. The weighted-average lease term spans approximately 5.6 years in contractual payments with annual rent escalation features. The company employs 112 full-time employees and operates the Sky Harbour Academy training program providing paid aviation industry training and career development opportunities.
The company finances its development through public bond markets and bank debt, having issued Series 2021 Bonds of $166.3 million and Series 2026 Bonds of $150 million through the Public Finance Authority of Wisconsin, supplemented by a $200 million term loan facility with JPMorgan Chase Bank.
